Kai Takada Misner, founder of Takada Woodworking, launched his business in 2024 after honing his craft alongside dedicated local woodworkers. Drawing from his Japanese and American heritage, Kai's designs showcase meticulous attention to detail, a mastery of light and shadow, and a commitment to precise, innovative functionality. Kai strives to bring the craft of cabinetry into the realm of furniture.
With six years spent managing major construction projects in Detroit, MI, Kai cultivated a unique perspective on craftsmanship and construction. Upon returning to Philomath, Oregon, he established his own wood shop, where is has been infusing his local projects with his decisive design, handcraft expertise, and bold vision for modern woodworking that respects tradition while embracing new ideas.
